For crews

Designed for your layover

Hakone, without the planning.

Want to discover Hakone without planning it all? Kurashi takes care of the journey and the day, combining the main sights with our favourite local spots.

Your early hours, well spent.

Already awake? We can leave as early as 6 AM to explore Hakone before it gets busy. Your guide adjusts the pace to your energy and what you feel like doing.

Better shared. Easier arranged.

Bring your colleagues and leave the arrangements to us. One booking, a cost to share, and a private day just for your group.

Thoughtfully curated, freely enjoyed

For one day, take the time to savour life around you. With carefully chosen places, local knowledge and seamless logistics, KURASHI gives you the freedom to enjoy each moment.

The day

Forget the clock. Follow the day.

One route we know well, in three movements. The order bends with the weather, the traffic and how you feel.

The day · afternoon

The afternoon softens

An onsen, Tenzan or Hakone Yuryo, chosen with your guide. If the weather turns, or nobody in the group wants to bathe, the Hakone Open-Air Museum instead. Then straight back to your hotel. Most crews sleep on the way.

Two equally considered choices

Traditional immersion or private comfort.

Tenzan

A deeply atmospheric open-air onsen shaped by stone, forest and river. Best for crews seeking the most traditional and self-guided immersion. Lunch comes first.

Tenzan accepts cash only. Bring yen in cash for admission and lunch.

Hakone Yuryo

Refined facilities, English-speaking support, private-bath possibilities and optional shiatsu. Best for crews preferring more structure and privacy.

Private baths available upon reservation. Ask when you book, so we can arrange it ahead of the day.

Back to Tokyo

Nothing else is scheduled.

The day is eleven hours, door to door. Choose your departure and add eleven.

Questions

The things crews actually ask.

How early can we leave?

Any half hour from 06:00 to 08:00, chosen when you book. You are back at your hotel eleven hours after you leave.

Which day of our layover should we choose?

If you have more than one, a day after you have slept once in Tokyo is usually best. Every roster is different, so tell us yours.

How many of us can come?

Up to four, with one guide, and a crew member is welcome to bring a partner or friend within that four. The day is never shared with another group.

What if the airline changes our plans?

You can cancel for a full refund until 17:00 Japan time on the day before your day, the same moment bookings close. If you booked before your flight to Tokyo landed and it is cancelled, or lands more than six hours late, we refund you in full even after that time. Anything else that changes your plans, such as a roster change or a shorter layover, is not refunded once 17:00 has passed, so tell us before then. You can also change your date for free, if the new date is available, until 17:00 Japan time on the day before.

How far ahead should we book?

About a week before your flight is ideal: it gives us the best chance of holding the day and the onsen you would prefer. We also know most crews only decide once they are already flying, so you can book from the aircraft. Bookings close at 17:00 Japan time on the day before the service.

Can we sleep on the way back?

Yes, and most crews do. After the onsen we go straight back to your hotel, with no commentary and no last stop.

Do tattoos affect the onsen?

Both onsen accept visible tattoos in the baths themselves, and both ask that tattoos are covered with a shirt in shared spaces such as the lobby, shop and cafés. One difference matters when choosing: Tenzan admits a tattooed guest when they are the only tattooed person in the group, so a crew with two or more may be turned away, whereas Hakone Yuryo sets no such limit. If more than one of you has tattoos, we simply shape the day around Hakone Yuryo. Mention it when you request your day and it is arranged quietly in advance, never at the door.

How and when do we pay?

Online payment is not yet available. For now, send us your preferred date and departure time. We will reply by email about availability and the next steps. Sending a request does not reserve a date or confirm a booking. Lunch, onsen or museum admission, amazake and optional extras are paid separately in yen at the relevant venues on the day. You can cancel for a full refund until 17:00 Japan time on the day before your day; after that there is no refund, except when you booked before landing and your flight is cancelled or lands more than six hours late.
